 My favorite game is foot ball. Why I like it is, as its gives lots of exercise to our body. My favorite football team is basilona and favorite football players are Cristiano Ronaldo, lianol messe and Nemar.  Playing football help us to grow a healthy body. It brings a sense of discipline to the players and a habit of endurancein us. A good football player is sure to succeed in any walk of life.

 During the last weekend, we went to peradeniya botanical garden. Everyone loves flowers, their beauty as well as their fragrance. When we reached the garden it was 10 o' clock we walked all over the garden, admiring the flowers and the large shady trees. The best attraction was the orchid house. There were various kinds of orchid flowers.  We could see a large number of both local and foreign tourists there that day. There were several large trees that were planted by foreign visitors in order to mark their visit to sri lanka. At about 1.00 p.m we had our lunch under the shade of a huge tree.  We look snaps of various beautiful flowers and plants. We spent nearly three hours in the garden. After an enjoyable day we reached home safely. 

 The programme I like to watch on television is the documentary series. It is an adventures programme. It arouses our curiosity of watching unknown places in our own country as well as overseas.  It gives as a vast knowledge of endemic plants, birds, animals and the life styles of our countries. I never miss that programme because it gives me pleasure and knowledge.

 Stamp collecting is my hobby. It is an interesting and useful hobby. I have hundreds of stamps in my stamp album. They are very beautiful once from all world countries. I have stamps from England, America, Canada, Japan, China and India.              There are stamps of many shapes and sizes. They have pictures of flowers birds and animals. Some pictures of great leaders of the world. The pictures of planes and ships a very interesting.             I have them on different pages on my album. I write short notes below each of the stamps. Each stamp has a short story behind it. This stems help us to increase our general knowledge.     When I have more than one stamps of the same kind I exchange them with friends for stamps I do not have. I would like to collect 1000 stamps. 

 As a result of modern inventions and the advancement of technology computers have become an essential item in the fast moving world. Its modern technology has minimised the long hours of printing and calculations as well as finding information from any part of the global.             The marvelous instrument has brought  by world together through its internet facility. In short It helped the world to become a global village. There's nothing that you cannot do using computer. Things have become so easy in the world of communication.                    The computer can provide you any information with regard to the fields of education, medical or evenv literature. It saves time and unnecessary trouble in walking into libraries in turning over the pages of various books.            As in anything, using computers can also bring about disadvantages. Sports whether it be track and field or games like Tennis or badminton or hokey are avery important part of a young person's life. This in especially true of school children today. With all the attention focused on the academic aspects of education the student should also think of physical culture or training of the body, otherwise we will end up being and nation of midgets.            Some kind of involvement in sports in necessary to have a healthy mind and a healthy body. The oxygen intake will increase and the supply of oxygen to the brain will supplement it, and increase its efficiency. To build a healthy Nation sports activities should be made compulsory. Sports and games make our bodies strong and prevent us getting too fat.

 Trees beautify the earth with their deep green foliage and many coloured flowers. While doing so they also provides with shade from the sun. And from there fruits provide nourishment to a multitude of being including man. They recycle the air we breathe. Without trees to filter the air, living these would be gasping for their very breath.               With increasing pollution man keeps cutting down trees and reclaiming land from forest reserves. As time goes by the ratio of forest cover will decrease rapidly. This in turn will affect the rain process. Also the heat of the atmosphere will increas and there will be droughts and other disasters. Tree provide humus which enriches the soil and provides cover to the earth allowing it to retain moisture, and thus nature the tiny insects that thrive on th ground.
