My favorite book is Madoldoowa. It was wrote by Martin Wikramasinhe. In Sri Lanka, It is extremely popular. It's a fascinating book that's written in easy-to-understand language. Upali Giniwella, the main character, lost his mother when he was seven years old and is now in the care of his stepmother. Ginna is his best buddy, and the two of them get up to a lot of mischief in the hamlet. Upali's father punishes them, and Upali and Ginna flee their house, settling in Madol Doova, a deep forest where they cultivate and reside. Upali's father dies later, and he is left to care for his stepmother and stepbrother. Upali is a self-sufficient and capable leader who enjoys heroics and adventure. He learns to be responsible after being mischievous at initially. Madol Doova is a novel about bravery and responsibility that everyone should read. 

Bob Marley was born on the 6th of February, 1945. He was a pioneer of Jamaican reggae music and a singer, guitarist, and composer from Jamaica. Probaly He was the first Jamaican reggae performer to gain considerable international popularity, and he is often regarded as one of the genre's best artists. He was born in the Jamaican town of Rhoden Hall, in the parish of Saint Ann. When Marley founded his first band, the Rudeboys, in 1961, he was learning the welding trade in Kingston. The Wailers were the name given to the group later on. Bunny Livingston and Peter Tosh, both vocalists for the Wailers, went solo and found success in their new endeavors. The group's early records were in the ska genre, which is a cross between New Orleans rhythm & blues and Jamaican mento.

Kumar Sanga" Chokshanada Sangakkara (born October 27, 1977) is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and national team captain. Sangakkara, widely regarded as one of the most prominent cricketers in the world, was recently voted the greatest ODI batsman of all time in a public survey. He is also recognized as one of Sri Lanka's all-time great match-winners and one of the best batsman the country has ever produced. Sangakkara has had many powerful partnerships with long-time teammate and friend Mahela Jayawardene, and holds a number of modern-era batting records in all formats of the game. With 28,016 international runs, he is second only to Tendulkar.

 Sinharaja is a world heritage sute in sri lanka. It is the only undisturbed rain forest in sri lanka. In is about 9000 hectares in extent. Many of the plant in this forest are very rare. In 1840 sinharaja became a crown property. In 1989 UNESCO included the sinharaja forest in the world heritage listas the first national heritage of sri lanka. The sinharaja rainforest is the largest forest inna sri lanka.

 Kumana is a birds santuary. It isn in the eastern province in sri lanka. Tt is a bird watchers paradise. We can see many kins of birds. Most of them are migrant birds. There is a lagoon in kumana. We can see a lot of birds around this lagoon. Kumana is wonderful place for bird watching.

 The coconut tree is a tree that can be used in a variety of ways. Cocus Nucifera is its botanical name. Tropical areas with saline, sandy soil support the growth of this tree. The young coconut's water makes a tasty and pleasant drink. We also like the nut's soft kernel. A matured coconut kernel is used to obtain coconut milk. Curries are made with coconut milk. Copra is made by drying the ripe kernel. Coconut oil is obtained from copra. To manufacture spoons, ornaments, and dishes, we polish the hard shell. The coconut tree's trunk provides durable wood for furniture and musical instruments. During festivals and rituals, people utilize the blooms of the coconut tree to produce traditional decorations for their homes.

 Our hill country has many tea estates. Tea grows well on a cool and high slope. They grow in a beautiful row. A tea bush is short and has light green leaves.  Many men and woman work on a tea estate. They till the soil and plant the tiny seedlings on a row. They water them and grow them with care. The tea bush grows big and grren. Then they clip the branches. Then tender green leave buds shoot out. The men and women pluck a lot of these tender buds. They put them in their tea baskets and take them to the tea factory. The factory pays the men and woman for their work. The factory workers dru the tender buds in hot air. When dry, they grind them in the mills. They take the best tea and pack them in big boxes. They send the boxes to Colombo. They ship the boxes to all countries of the world. Tea bring us a lot of money. 

 My favorite game is foot ball. Why I like it is, as its gives lots of exercise to our body. My favorite football team is basilona and favorite football players are Cristiano Ronaldo, lianol messe and Nemar.  Playing football help us to grow a healthy body. It brings a sense of discipline to the players and a habit of endurancein us. A good football player is sure to succeed in any walk of life.

 During the last weekend, we went to peradeniya botanical garden. Everyone loves flowers, their beauty as well as their fragrance. When we reached the garden it was 10 o' clock we walked all over the garden, admiring the flowers and the large shady trees. The best attraction was the orchid house. There were various kinds of orchid flowers.  We could see a large number of both local and foreign tourists there that day. There were several large trees that were planted by foreign visitors in order to mark their visit to sri lanka. At about 1.00 p.m we had our lunch under the shade of a huge tree.  We look snaps of various beautiful flowers and plants. We spent nearly three hours in the garden. After an enjoyable day we reached home safely. 

 The programme I like to watch on television is the documentary series. It is an adventures programme. It arouses our curiosity of watching unknown places in our own country as well as overseas.  It gives as a vast knowledge of endemic plants, birds, animals and the life styles of our countries. I never miss that programme because it gives me pleasure and knowledge.

 Stamp collecting is my hobby. It is an interesting and useful hobby. I have hundreds of stamps in my stamp album. They are very beautiful once from all world countries. I have stamps from England, America, Canada, Japan, China and India.              There are stamps of many shapes and sizes. They have pictures of flowers birds and animals. Some pictures of great leaders of the world. The pictures of planes and ships a very interesting.             I have them on different pages on my album. I write short notes below each of the stamps. Each stamp has a short story behind it. This stems help us to increase our general knowledge.     When I have more than one stamps of the same kind I exchange them with friends for stamps I do not have. I would like to collect 1000 stamps. 

 As a result of modern inventions and the advancement of technology computers have become an essential item in the fast moving world. Its modern technology has minimised the long hours of printing and calculations as well as finding information from any part of the global.             The marvelous instrument has brought  by world together through its internet facility. In short It helped the world to become a global village. There's nothing that you cannot do using computer. Things have become so easy in the world of communication.                    The computer can provide you any information with regard to the fields of education, medical or evenv literature. It saves time and unnecessary trouble in walking into libraries in turning over the pages of various books.            As in anything, using computers can also bring about disadvantages. Sports whether it be track and field or games like Tennis or badminton or hokey are avery important part of a young person's life. This in especially true of school children today. With all the attention focused on the academic aspects of education the student should also think of physical culture or training of the body, otherwise we will end up being and nation of midgets.            Some kind of involvement in sports in necessary to have a healthy mind and a healthy body. The oxygen intake will increase and the supply of oxygen to the brain will supplement it, and increase its efficiency. To build a healthy Nation sports activities should be made compulsory. Sports and games make our bodies strong and prevent us getting too fat.

 Trees beautify the earth with their deep green foliage and many coloured flowers. While doing so they also provides with shade from the sun. And from there fruits provide nourishment to a multitude of being including man. They recycle the air we breathe. Without trees to filter the air, living these would be gasping for their very breath.               With increasing pollution man keeps cutting down trees and reclaiming land from forest reserves. As time goes by the ratio of forest cover will decrease rapidly. This in turn will affect the rain process. Also the heat of the atmosphere will increas and there will be droughts and other disasters. Tree provide humus which enriches the soil and provides cover to the earth allowing it to retain moisture, and thus nature the tiny insects that thrive on th ground. 

Reading gives a person a deep knowledge in various subjects. Normally people read for pleasure at their leisure times some make it a hobby. An avid reader is a well versed person. Any article on any subject is the game for him. There are so many things to read such as articles, short stories, magazines, periodicals, biographies and the like. However one must know what to read and what not to read.         Reading is a good mental relax exercise which develops our brain and mental power. We need to know the particular language to read the book written in that language. Reading also improve our language skills like vocabulary pronunciation and understanding idiomatic expressions.                Some of our ancient people couldn't  read by themselves, so they used to go to places like temples. Where Jataka stories were read by the buddhist priests in the presence of the audience. 

Anuradhapuraya is the first kingdom of our country. It is situated in north central province of our country. It was established by king Pandukabhaya in 4th century BC. Among the ancient cities in our country Anuradhapuraya is very important for buddhists because a lot of religious places important for buddhists are situated in this sacred city. They are the Shri maha bhodi, the thuparamaya, the Abhhayagiriya, the Mirissawetiyathe Ruwanweliseya, the Lowamahapaya, the jethawanaramaya and the Lanka ranaya. These are called 'Atamasthanaya'. Among them Thuparamaya is the first built sthupa in our country. It has a lot of ruins of our ancient Kingdom. The inscriptions carved on stones can be seen everywhere. This ruins show the architectural feats of our great kings. They represent our great old history. 

 On Saturday I got up early in the morning and helped my mother to prepare our breakfast. After having breakfast I went to library with my brother. Before lunch we came home. After lunch in the afternoon I played cricket with my village friends. In the evening I went to temple with my family members. My friend also join us. On Sunday I got up early in the morning and went to the town for buy some violin and guitar strings. At about 11 o'clock I came home. After lunch I watched a film on television with my family. After that in the evening I visited my grandparents. That night I finished all my assignments and went to bed early. 

 It is very important that we grow our oven food because it brings us a lot of advantages. If we grow some fruits and vegetables in our home garden, we can use our free time in a useful manner. We can earn some money by selling our extra harvest. We can save our money that we give for expired fruits and vegetables in the market.          Farmers who cultivate paddy fruit and vegetables never think of our health. They want only a good harvest so they always used in organic fertilizer, herbicide, and insecticide and so on for the purpose of getting a good harvest. They are too harmful to our body organs. If we grow our oven food we can use only organic fertilizer. In addition to that gardening is good for our mental relaxation too. When we see our garden full with fresh fruits and vegetables it makes us happy. 

 Environmental pollution is the damage to the environment because of human activities. Environment is the surrounding around us. It includes tree,air,soil,animals,birds,insects etc. We should protect our environment because it gives us everything we need like food,water,medicine etc. But some people have not understood the importance of protecting our environment so they polluted it in various ways. As a result of it environmental pollution is a big problem in the world today. Environmental pollution is occurring much faster in the world than before with rapid growth in pollution.             People contribute to the environmental pollution in various ways. They cut down trees in a careless manner for agricultural purposes and building large factories. They put Industrial waste into the water ways in pollute them. They add in indigestible material like polythene and plastic into the soil. The pollution from auto emission adds poisonous gases into the a...

Internet can be defined as the international computer network. People can interact with each other to share knowledge and get gayness in many field. And also getting information through internet is cheap and fast. People use the search engines to collect information because it is uploaded every minute. Internet has become so popular almost teenagers because they can obtain information reading their education and assesment in school. It provides different types of entertainment people. Internet provides online conferences professionals making their work easier. Many websites of different universities provide lecturers on different subjects or topics. Today most Universities and boards provide results on the internet. People can book online seats for travelling and get online medical service.                  But internet has disadvantages too. Water is the valuable recourse we have received from mother nature. It was liquid food for all living forms. There are nany advantages of having clean water. Water helps man animal and plants to grow and survive. We can obtain water from wells, rivers, streams, lakes and ponds. When it rains the rivers lakes and ponds fill up with water. There are many creatures uch as fish, turtles, crocodiles, frogs and reptiles living in these water bodies. Insects too live in these water bodies.       If water ways polluted and the water is stagnant, insects such as mosquitoes breed in them. They spread diseases. Water has no colour or taste. We can be free of money diseases, if we drink six bottle of water for drink purposes.

 School holiday is the happeiest time for school children. We gt long period of time to stay at home without going to school. We should use this time to summarize wha we have learnt during he past term. We can visit our relations. In addition to that we can go to visit the interesting places and religious places in our country with our parents. This time has been given to us to be with nature but due to tuition classes we have lost this valuable time because our parents force us to go to tuition classes. During this period of time we should do all our homework given by our teachers. We also get a chance to play with our village friends and engaged in social service activities in the village. 

 Dunhida waterfall is my favorite place to visit. It is one of the most beautiful waterfall in our country. It is located in Baddulla. It has got the name dunhida as the mist occurs when the water falls down. This waterfall gives a good look to the environment so a lot of foreigners and local visitors like to visit it. To see the beauty of the waterfalls, we have to walk about 2km distance along a foot path from the main road. Near the fall, there is astage for visitors to see the waterfall better because it is not safe to close to the waterfall. People are not allowed to swing in the pool or near the fall as many people have been injured there. It gives a good income to the people in this area. They see many things to the visitors and earn some money. As it is a very famous tourist attraction in our country, we should try to protect this interesting place for our next generation too.
